2012 Philippine Yo-Yo Contest Announcement

The Philippine Yo-Yo Association isproud to announce that the 2012 yo-yo contest circuit is officially underway.

This year there will be 4 Major Competition going on including

Southern Regional Yo-Yo Contest - April 28-29, 2012

Central Regional Yo-Yo Contest (Date to be announced soon)

Mindanao Regional Yo-Yo Contest - September 15-16, 2012

Philippine National Yo-Yo Contest (Date to be announced soon)

On April 28^th and 29^th join the PYYA at the SouthernRegional Contest at SM City Dasmarinas, the first of three regional conteststhat will eventually to the Philippine National Yo-yo Contest 2012. The SouthernRegional Contest is open to all contestants nationwide where they will battle their way toa seeding ensuring their slot at Nationals and the title of Regional Champions.

Expert Division willconsist of:

1A Division

2A Division

3A Division

4A Division

5A Division

All 5 divisions willgo pass through 1 min prelims, then the judges will pick the finalist wherethey will perform the 3 min freestyle to determin the top 3 winners.

Every each champion (1^st place) of per division isautomatically seeded out for Philippine National Yo-Yo Contest during the 2012circuit.

The PYYA will be featuring in addition this year will also feature aBeginner Level to all yo-yo newcomers. For every player that has NOT joined anyNational Competition is qualified to join the Beginner Division.

The Beginner Division will consist of:

X-Division (whereparticipants can perform any division other than 1A)

Must prepare a 2 minfreestyle and there will be no preliminary. The judging system will be alsosame as Expert Division.

This year for Beginner players to motivate more for joining the Yo-yo contestfor 2012, PYYA will be giving a Special Award so called “Over All Champion”. At the end of the circuit the total points perjoin of the contest will be added and calculated to determine the 2012 over allBeginner champions. The more you join, there will be a more chances to win thisaward.

More specific rules regarding the judging system used throughout thecircuit will be released shortly. The PYYA looks forward to seeing you thiscoming April.

Black Day is actually tribute event to "Tomonari Ishuguro" more known at "BLACK"

And every April most players do the Black Day event by wearing Black shirt, cap, shoes, bag, string, Black yoyo and more.

For Reviving this event we all invite Yoyo players to come and join our Black Day 2012.

More than 70 Yoyo Players from different part of Philippines joined this year

2011 Philippine National Yoyo Contest.

Most of them are 1sttime to compete with veterans and most of the senior members where surprised how the yoyoing communty is growing since we had our 1st Nationals way back 2004.

We had 3 players came from Davao, Michael Lampadio, James Apolonio, John Elias Ibarra joined 1sttime in national competition and those players really have a great skill that amazed the crowd.

Thank you also for Laguna Players who supported the event and those uniform that they made was really cool and outstanding during the event.

This year finally we had completed all 5 division in our nationals and the new additional division was

3A division. Organizer and admins discuss that its about time that Philippines must have a 3A division due to number of players that started already practicing 3A early this year. And with having those kind of division, people have another agenda to practice more and someday comepete to international scene with there designated division.

And ofcourse our special guest Tomas Bubak from Duncan Crew Czech Republic. One of the coolest guest that we had and really time.

READ THE FOLLOWING FOR CS:

To those joining the 2011 Philippine National Yoyo Contest, read the following guidelines.

-We have an online registration just like what we did last Regionals.
-Players should submit the following:
*Full Name
*Division to be joined
*Yoyos to be used per division

Only those who submitted the needed information can join the 2011 National Yoyo Contest. Hanggang November 12, 2011 lang kayo pwede mag submit. We need to be strict so players will abide by the rules.

Registration Fee:
P150 per head - one division (additional P50 for another division)

Music:
Prepare 2 audio CD's
1st CD = 1 minute preliminary freestyle music
2nd CD = 3 minute finals freestyle music

Philippine Regional Yoyo Contest Champions and Davao Regional Yoyo Contest Champions will have free registration fee for their champion divisions. However, they still need to pay additional P50 for every extra division they want to join.

*Only the Technical Execution (TE) will be scored during the preliminary round.
*Finalists will be determined depending on how many players joined the preliminary round.

On September 28, 2011, 2 of Cavite's yoyo players did a yoyo demonstration in SM Bacoor for the 340th Founding Anniversary of Baccor, Cavite. The event also hosted the first ever awarding for the outstanding policemen and women of the soon-to-be city of Bacoor in Cavite.

Cavite's Kyle and Preslie did a routine after almost waiting for 4 hours, and luckily enough, were given free food. Yey!

The Tricks must be in order and you need to memorize the tricks because Judges won't tell you what's the next trick to do during the contest.

If you missed the trick, you need to do it again.

Tips:

1. Make the String Shorter as much as you can. That makes the trick faster and easy to control.

2. Discover by yourself how to finish the trick faster.

3. Time yourself everytime you practice

We just held our Toys R Us YoYo Contest yesterday (August 29, 2011) at Trinoma Mall

There were 18 contestant who joined the contest and more then 50 yoyo players from different places like

Metro Manila (Central)

Marikina, Taytay, Antipolo area (East)

Cavite (South)

went to the event to witness, make new friend, meet there yoyo idols and have bonding with there yoyo friends.

Judges of this event area Jay Nolan, Sean Perez, Bryan Jardin, Paul Murillo, Hiro Koba and Micheal Ayuyao.

Toys R Us carries Duncan Product and they are just allowed to use those yoyos on the event.

We had a semi finals at the Yoyo Area which provided by Toys R Us for us Flipspin.

Players did a Basic Ladder Contest using the Duncan Yoyos that they just bough from Toys R Us.

And the Finals was made it on Stage which our 5 finalist will do a tie breaker trick of "Long Sleeper"

We invite you to Toys R us Yoyo contest on August 29, 2011 (Monday) at Trinoma Mall activity center

There will be a space for yoyo players who want to Play, Learn and Join the contest prepared by Flipspin Yoyo Komunidad.

Tournament Mechanics:
1. The First round will consist of 5 tricks listed below (depending on the number of contestants this round may be held off stage)
2. The Second round will consist of the 5 original tricks, with the addition of 3 more.
3. The Final round will consist of the 8 previous tricks, as well as 2 more.
4. Each round will contain multiple groups, each group consisting of 2 to 3 contestants (depending on the number of entrees) and a the supervising senior judge
5. In the event of a tie in a group, in any of the rounds, a long sleeper contest will be held and the contestant whose yoyo remains in the sleeping position the longest will be announced the winner of the round.
6. In the first 2 rounds each contestant will be given the chance to perform the trick, the first contestant who does not manage to perform their trick will be eliminated from the competition

Rules:
• In order to participate, each contestant must use a Duncan product that is purchased at Toys R’ Us Yoyo booth on August 29, 2011

Last June 4, 2011 sinimulan na namin yung bagong Activity sa Flipspin kung saan nag bunutan ang mga YoYo Players para magkaroon ng kani kanilang grupo. At sa 4th week of June mag frefreestyle ang bawat player at yung score nila ay itototal as a group. Kung sino ang may pinaka mataas na point as a group sila ang Panalo sa Month of June :)

Hinati namin sila sa 4 group na consist of 5 to 6

members plus 2 senior Members as there coach.

Take note: Kapag yung member nila at wala ng 4th week malaking kawalan sa Scoring nila sa 4th week Freestyle Battle. So Make sure encourage them to attend atleast the 4th week para hindi makaltas ng malaki sa score nila.

Flipspin Program for June

Hello Everyone.

For the month of June Program we will have:

Group freestyle Mini-Contest.
Lots are to be drawn every first week of the month.
Freestyle contests will be held at the last clubmeet of the month.
Mechanics:
- Groups will choose a name for themselves, and their current group will be their team for the rest of the month.
- 2 Senior members will be assigned to each group to mentor and assist them in polishing their respective freestyle presentations.
- They will practice a freestyle routine to be presented at the last clubmeet of the month. Totally up to the group how they will organize their presentation.
- Each player will come up with a 1 minute freestyle routine.
- After all the players have had their freestyle, the total group score will be added up to determine the winner.

Lot drawing and group assignments for the rest of the month will be made this coming Saturday, June

Open to all yoyo players, beginner to intermediate level

The program starts exactly 4 pm so please be there early.

Last May 8 and 9, 2011 We held our 2nd Philippine Regional Yoyo Contest at Manila Tytana College. More than 150 people where there to witness our one of the Major Contest in our Country.

Pete also from Malaysia visited our yoyo contest and also some Players in Bulacan and Pampanga too.

60 yoyo players joined and some of them are new to Yoyo Contest but still They did there best to show what they could do.

We are proud that Yoyoing Scene here in our Country is growing and even new players qualified to Finals.

But the veterans also showed there skill of experience of how serious is the yoyo Contest.

All in all this are the Final Results

We had a last clubmeet of the month and everybody is getting ready for next week Philippine Regional Yoyo Contest :)

We are very happy that Players are working hard for there routine. In spite of pressure and tense for the upcoming contest. Most of them are relax and you could see that they just want to have fun.

Last Clubmeet, almost 30 yoyo players gathered to hang out and have fun at club meet.

Great to see that yoyoing here in Philippines is growing plus kids improves faster that we were expected. Many of them already practice for upcoming Regional Contest. Few more weeks are left now and most of them prepares to win a title.

This day also a day many yoyo players witness the new yoyos of duncan. Echo, Metropolis, and Exit 8. Thank you Duncan Crew Philippines for letting us test how it plays..

and for the mini freestyle contest in clubmeet Jk Mandawe got 1st place. Congrats :)

It Hiro Koba's 23rd birthday today and really really Thank you to all the people who supported and continuously supporting Kitty String.

For my birthday treat I came up to make a small contest for all of you.

Mechanics is simple.

Tag or Post us a picture in our Kitty String Facebook account that shows how you are enjoying your Kitty Strings plus Photos must have a short description about Kitty String.

May malungkot na balita. Tuluyan na po tayong hindi makakapag clubmeet sa alphaland mall kaya po etong sabado, gaganapin ung Clubmeet po sa Ayala Triangle park, Likod siya ng Makati Stock exchange

kung mangagaling po kayong Ayala Mrt Station.
lakad lang kayo papuntang Makati Shangri-la tapos tawid kayo papuntang Manila Peninsula. Tapos matatanaw niyo na po ung Ayala Triangle Garden Park.

kung galing naman kayong LRT. Babakayo ng Gil Puyat station at sakay kayo ng Bus Papuntang Makati. Baba kayo sa Harap ng Makati stock exchange.

2 pm onwards pa rin po ang clubmeet

lets all meet 1st at Makati Stock exchange and after that lets find a place where we could play.

Saturday (March 5, 2011) at Alphaland Southgate Mall, Magallanes MRT Station. 3rd floor (near food express)
Registration fee = P20 per player

Registration will start at 3pm

Rules:
-Open to all divisions (1A – 5A)
-1 minute yoyo routine with music, just bring your own mp3 player
-Top 3 players will win yoyos and others

it will be at Manila Tytana College Gymnasium. (formerly known as Manila Doctors College)

The School is near Mall of Asia.

Just beside the Blue wave Petron.

Kung mangagaling kayong LRT or MRT sakay lang kayo ng papuntang Mall of Asia at bumaba po sa may Petron bago mag Mall of Asia
